Hillary Lee is a photographer driven by the search for the next compelling view. Growing up among the
monuments of
Washington, D.C., the stark geometry of its brutalist metro system, and making regular visits to family in
the
sharp-peaked landscape of the American Southwest, she developed a deep appreciation for strong lines and
bold forms.
These themes inform her work across architecture, landscapes, and street photography.
Lee's career in video production has led her to produce extensive online photography and videography courses
for
companies such as LinkedIn Learning, Lynda.com, and Skylum Software. These experiences kept her at the
forefront of
industry shifts. This includes the transition to mirrorless cameras, the rise of smartphone photography, and
the early
adoption of AI-driven photo workflows.
Recently, her image “Obscured,” earned her an Honorable Mention from The Berlin Photo Awards. It captures
the Washington
Monument emerging from dense fog and her ability to find cinematic compositions.
In her spare time, you can find Hillary embroidering, in search of the best crab cake sandwich, rewatching
shows from
the NBC comedy lineup in the 2010s, or at a museum.
